Steven graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1974 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1976. He began his legal career by founding and operating a successful suburban law firm. In 1985, Steven was elected to the Ontario Legislature representing Mississauga North for a decade. During his time in government, he served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Attorney General. He was later appointed to cabinet as Solicitor General. Following his political career he returned to the legal and business worlds at FNF Canada and is currently Senior Vice President of MyClosing.
