During the Peterson years, Barb served as Executive Assistant to Honourable Greg Sorbara while he was the Ontario minister for portfolios that included Colleges & Universities and Skills Development. Since 1993, when she was a chief negotiator for the Social Contract in the publicly funded health sector, Barb has been involved in a wide variety of health-related issues. The latter experience led to twenty years of work with the P&C insurance industry, medical rehabilitation community and government that was aimed at improving the quality and cost-effectiveness of treatment for personal injuries incurred through accidental events.
